OUR PROGRAMS
Four Ways to Get Involved
Whether you're looking for an internship, a scholarship, an advisory role, or to hear from young leaders — there's a program for you.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Real Experience.
Real Impact.
Our internship program places high school and college students directly inside Sacramento County's longest-running women's Democratic club. Interns work alongside experienced organizers on real projects — and leave with skills that matter.
High school students may earn community service hours; college students may be eligible for academic credit through their institution.
Leadership Development
Work directly with WDSC officers and committee leads on club initiatives.
Communications & Research
Contribute to newsletters, social media, policy research, and event planning.
Policy Exposure
Attend General Meetings, candidate forums, and endorsement sessions.
Community Service Hours
High school students: hours may count toward school requirements.
College Credit Possible
Ask your academic advisor about internship credit through your institution.

YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
Student Voices at the Table
The Youth Advisory Council is a new student-led advisory body that will connect WDSC's membership with the perspectives of young people across Sacramento County.
This program was born from within our own internship: a WDSC high school intern wrote the founding proposal, which was presented to and accepted by the Executive Board and full membership. That's exactly the kind of impact our programs are designed to create.
Structure, application process, and timeline coming soon.
Coming Soon!
The Youth Advisory Council is being established. Interest forms and membership details will be announced at an upcoming
General Meeting.
SPEAKERS SERIES
Youth Panel
At WDSC General Meetings, our Speakers Series: Youth Panel brings young voices directly to our membership. Student panelists share their experiences with civic engagement, their perspectives on local issues, and what motivates their generation to get involved.
GENERAL MEETING FEATURE
Speakers Series: Youth Panel
Young leaders from across Sacramento County speak at WDSC General Meetings about civic engagement, community service, and the future of Democratic politics in our region. This has already been held — and the response from our membership was inspiring.
Photos, flyers, and a video recording of the first Youth Panel are forthcoming from our program coordinator. This page will be updated when materials are available.
