About Us

The leadership of the Women Dems is elected by the General membership every two years. The Nominating Committee identifies candidates and presents a slate of nominees for the Executive Committee and the Elected Standing Committee. The slate is voted upon by the eligible membership at the designated General meeting.

Debbie Richardson is a committed community advocate who served four years as Secretary of Women Democrats of Sacramento County before becoming President. She brings organizational expertise and an unwavering belief in empowering individuals through collaboration and inclusive civic engagement.

Dawn Basciano is a community leader and advocate known for her passion for civic engagement, her commitment to advancing women’s voices in politics, and empowering underserved communities. Dawn is the Vice President of Women Democrats of Sacramento Cunty and served as the Secretary in 2025.

Alaya Amyra Agee holds a BA in Psychology from Sacramento State and is completing a Master's in Leadership at Grand Canyon University. As Secretary of WDSC, she is dedicated to civic engagement, leadership development, and empowering women to participate boldly in their communities.

Julie has been a member of WDSC since 2017. She has served as Treasurer since July 2023. Julie retired from the State of California in 2014 with over 25 years of experience in human resources and labor relations. She is active with Indivisible and other organizations with a goal of saving our democracy.

For 2026-2027, Sue Litsey again holds the role of Membership Director.

New to this role in 2025, Ariane Lyons is continuing as our Fundraising Chair for 2026-2027.

Pam Dominisse has been a member of WDSC since 2016 and has served as Fundraising Director since 2020. She is a Sacramento County Public Defender and US Army JAG Corps, retired.

Brenda Borge is a retired teacher and school counselor, past President of the Natomas Teachers Association, and a delegate to the Sacramento County Central Committee. A UC Davis and USC alumna, she serves as Political Affairs Director for WDSC and is a passionate advocate for universal healthcare and democratic values.

Delores Roberts

Member At Large

Delores Roberts is a military veteran and STEM professional with 17 years in the nuclear industry and a current role at Genentech. She brings deep commitment to procedural integrity and civic engagement to her role as Parliamentarian.

Linda Reed spent nearly 30 years teaching English and leading a Civic Education Academy for high school students, following an earlier career as a Macy's executive. Civic education remains her passion in retirement.

Eric Wiesenthal is a former Capitol Hill reporter who went on to a 20-year California state government career. He has served multiple terms as an At-Large Member of the Women Democrats of Sacramento County Board since 2018.

Sandra has been a member of WDSC since 2017. She previously served as Secretary from 2019-2021 and served as Treasurer from 2021-2023. From 2023-2025, Sandra served as the President. Sandra is a retired Public Safety Dispatcher.

Teresa Hernandez began her political activism in 1972 alongside César Chávez and the United Farmworkers, and after a full career with the State of California, returned to civic engagement when the MAGA administration reignited her drive to fight for justice. She joined WDSC 18 months ago and particularly loves writing for the newsletter.

Angi Roberts founded The Association Office in 1990, providing nonprofit organizations with event planning, database management, election management, and operational support for over 35 years. She manages the WDSC website and brings decades of nonprofit expertise to her role on the Board.
