The mission of the Women Democrats of Sacramento County is to impact social change by redefining the role of women in politics while advocating for equity, justice and economic advancement.

Founded in 1953

WDSC will achieve this mission by promoting and expanding the role of women in politics, facilitating understanding of issues that concern women and families, maintaining cooperative relations, and advocating legislation that improves civil, social, economic and political status of women.

Remembering Senator Dianne Feinstein

The Women Democrats of Sacramento County mourns the loss of Senator Dianne Feinstein who recently passed away. She was a political icon and trailblazer as the first woman president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the first woman mayor of San Francisco, and the first woman from California elected to the United States Senate and a list of many more "firsts". She championed tough issues such as gun reform, violence against women and environmental issues. Her political impact was far-reaching and her legacy will last for generations.
