Honoring Rev. Jesse Jackson
February 17, 2026
Rev. Jesse Jackson devoted his life to bending the moral arc of this nation toward justice—marching when it was dangerous, speaking when silence was expected, and standing despite risks and great personal sacrifice.
He gave voice to the voiceless, dignity to the dismissed, and hope to generations who dared to believe that democracy could truly include everyone. His clarion call for civil rights, economic justice, voting rights, and peace reshaped America’s conscience and expanded the promise of freedom for women, people of color, workers, and the poor.
As women leaders, organizers, and advocates, we are especially grateful for his unwavering belief in the power of women to lead movements and transform communities. Reverend Jackson’s legacy is a reminder that leadership requires both moral clarity and compassion—and that justice is not a moment, but a lifelong mission. His legacy lives on in every vote protected, every young person empowered, every woman who steps boldly into leadership, and every community that refuses to surrender hope.
Today, we grieve—but let us also recommit. Recommit to the work he began, to the courage he modeled, and to the future he believed was possible. His work encouraged generations to believe that their voices matter and that collective action can move history forward. May we honor his life not only with words, but with action. May we organize harder, love deeper, and lead with the moral clarity he so powerfully embodied.
Rest in power and peace, Rev. Jesse Jackson. We will keep hope alive.
