About the event

Postcarding - Join us at 6pm as we continue writing postcards to support reproductive rights in Ohio. Last month, we wrote more than 80 postcards and hope to send more in advance of Ohio's special election in August. We will provide postcards, pens and a script!

Appointment Ratification - President Sandra has appointed Julie Chapman to our Treasurer position. Membership will ratify the appointment at the meeting on July 17. Thank you, Julie!

The Speaker Series will feature Heidi Sanborn, founding Director of the California Product Stewardship Council and the National Stewardship Action Council.

Bring school supplies to the meeting!

We are sending you this note in hopes you will help out a very good cause. Moms Demand Action is working to change the path of kids who may take a path that leads them into trouble.  They are collecting backpacks and supplies to get kids ready for school. If you would like to donate there are 2 ways to go. You can use the 2 links below and send directly to Moms thru Target or Amazon or we will be collecting items at the Women Dems meeting next Monday July 17.

The Folsom Foothills, Yolo, and Capitol/Sacramento Area Moms Demand Action groups are teaming up to collect backpacks and school supplies for our community partner, Movement 4 Life. Movement4Life is one of the CalVIP programs that local Moms Demand Action support. This program will gain funding if we are successful in passing AB 28 (WDSC supported legislation).  Please see the event flyer for more details.

Our goal is to collect NEW backpacks and school supplies for 75-100 youth aged 12-18 that are committed to Movement 4 Life. We are planning to collect mostly for the 60 boys in the program but also their brothers/sisters so the age may be elementary through high school. The supply list includes NEW items such as pencils, pens, binders, markers, calculators, pocket folders, scissors, spiral notebooks, Kleenex, loose leaf paper, rulers, pencil bags, hand sanitizing wipes, etc. To shop and ship back to school supplies directly to us, you can find wish lists at the following websites:
